We founded the Swallow Design & Build company in October 2014 after working in the building industry for 26 years. The inspiration for our company arose whilst working for Swallow Developments Ltd, as we were seeing an increasing number of clients looking for a complete build and design service. This motivated our decision to branch out and formulate Swallow Design & Build Ltd to cater to this particular clientele. Five years later, Swallow goes from strength to strength, creating meticulous, bespoke, contemporary homes individually designed for the client’s lifestyle, needs and wishes.
Matthew grew up watching his father build peoples dream homes and aspired to follow in his father’s footsteps. This motivated Matthew to study Building, Design and Construction Management at Guildford College, where he received an advanced diploma in Construction Management & Economics. Matthew started his career in 1992 at Berkeley Homes, Hampshire as their youngest Site Manager. Through 20 years of work, Matthew dreamt of working with his Father at Swallow Developments Ltd.
Matthew’s passion for building design seeps into his free time, as he is known to take photos of chimneys when he thinks no one is looking! Alongside his work he is also an enthusiastic cook, regularly supplying the perfect Sunday dinner for his wife and three kids.

My creativity and passion for design has been paramount in the success of Swallow Design & Build Ltd. I adore how varied my job role is and really appreciate being my own boss, working full time on our unique business model.

We have spent 29 years building our personal lives together and have now worked together for many years, demonstrating to be an efficient, hardworking, highly motivated team in and out of the office. We are keen to be involved in our local community and proudly sponsor Basingstoke Girls Rugby teams under 18’s, under 15’s and under 13’s. We also help run the local youth club ‘Youthquake’ alongside having three children: Ryan 21, Milly 18 and Darcy 13. We are also proud pet owners of an adorable labradoodle called Flo who has become our company’s mascot.
